Need a new logo for your company? eCape has a quick and easy solution.

Mon, 09/14/2015 - 12:00am

One of the most common roadblocks to good marketing and web design is the lack of a good logo for a company.   In many cases, all a small business has is a low-resolution version of their logo without the layers, which is unsuitable for modification or enlargement.   Or, the logo itself is not well-adapted for digital branding, meaning that there is no square or simplified version of their company brand.

We offer a quick and affordable solution to this problem.  As part of a web site design project, eCape  can produce a high-quality logo for $399.   After a consultation with the client, we will give our designers the starting points and they will come back with 8 – 10 logos to choose from.  From there, the field is narrowed down more and more, and the client can continue to have it tweaked to their complete satisfaction.   Best of all, the client receives their logo in all the versions and file formats needed  for print collateral, signage, digital, etc.    It’s a heck of a deal and takes about a week.

Here are some recent examples of logos we’ve produced for clients:

Get customer inquiries from your website texted to you!

Thu, 09/10/2015 - 3:37pm

For service-oriented industries who rely on a conversation with a customer to deliver a quick quote or set up appointments, it is essential to get back to customers sooner than your competitors will.  There’s nothing more frustrating than missing out on a sale because you didn’t get that email generated from the form on your site soon enough.

That’s why eCape adds email-to-text capability to its forms on our customer’s websites if they want it.   What this means is:  when a customer fills out the inquiry form on your website, you get all their info sent to you in an email, as well as a text.

It’s actually easy to do this:  all we need to know is your mobile carrier and number, and the info in the form is texted to you.  Many of our small business customers are out on the road or off site all day, and they may have spotty coverage unsuitable to downloading emails.  Like most people, they don’t have notifications set up to go off every time they get an email.

But, they can get texts even in low reception areas and if they have text notifications enabled, they can get a text (complete with customer phone numbers click-to-call) and get back to that customer right away.

Here is the format for email to text:

WooCommerce – A Flexible Solution for ecommerce on WordPress sites

Tue, 09/01/2015 - 4:10pm

Since eCape made the change to building websites exclusively on the WordPress platform 3 years ago, we have never looked back.  We continue to be impressed by this quickly evolving platform and its many hundreds of useful plugins, or applications.   One plugin which is particularly impressive is WooCommerce.  Just two recent examples of eCape sites show how big or small you can use WooCommerce.  For a site we built,, we used Woo to make a shopping cart for their digital products, in other words, products that the customer downloads after thepayment has been processed.

On a much larger scale, we used WooCommerce to build out a new site for City Schemes , a contemporary furniture store in Cambridge, MA.  There are hundreds of products, each with several photos and attributes with previews.  See how you can preview this dresser in different woods here.   This sort of functionality would have to have been custom scripted (and therefore very expensive) just a few years ago.

With WooCommerce, it’s easily configurable.
