Double rollover on Route 6; Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash; Tree branch cuts power

Drivers escape serious injury in double rollover
- State Police are investigating an early morning crash on Route 6. The crash shortly before 4:30 AM Friday happened on the eastbound side past exit 9 where the "alley" section of highway starts. Two vehicles collided and rolled on their sides in the woods. 18-year old Emmy Leahy of Chahtam was taken to Cape Cod Hospital for evaluation. State Police cited Leahy for following too close and impeded operation. The driver of the other car Kevin Albrecht of Dennis was not injured.

Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash
- A motorcycle operator was seriously injured when his bike crashed in Barnstable. The crash happened shortly before 9 PM on Main Street (Route 6A). The victim 24-year old Keith DeBettancourt was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital with what were believed to be serious but non-life threatening. Barnstable Police are investigating the crash and cited DeBettancourt for operating to endanger, operating unlicensed, and markes lanes violation.

Tree limb knocks out power
- A tree limb came across primary wires on Old Colony Way in Orleans Thursday afternoon. Power was knocked out for a time in the area of Skaket Corners plaza for about 45 minutes until NStar could clear the limb. welcomes thoughtful comments and the varied opinions of our readers.
