As the victim was being transported to Cape Cod Hospital with head injuries, police issued a BOLO for the Saturn. Shortly after hearing the BOLO, a Barnstable patrol officer saw a female get out of the car in question at 80A Winter Street in Hyannis. Patrol officers surrounded the home and Cape Cod Regional SWAT was called to the scene, police said.

SWAT arrived, equipped with a Bearcat vehicle and a Barnstable Police negotiator called one of the woman who had been in the car at the beach during the robbery. Following the negotiator's call, two men and three woman carrying two infants exited the home. Police were told Sanches and his girlfriend, 18-year-old Jailee Washington of Sandwich were still in the home.  Sanches reportedly had the gun used in the robbery.

SWAT called to Sanches and Washington over a loudspeaker and the couple eventually exited the home. Police entered the home and located the Tokarev semi-automatic pistol believed to have been used the the robbery along with some ammunition. The gun and bullets were found secreted in a crawl space, according to police.

Both Sanches and Washington were placed under arrest and transported to the Barnstable Police Station for booking. Sanches was charged with armed robbery, two counts of armed assault with intent to murder, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition. Washington was charged with accessory after the fact to armed robbery and armed assault with intent to murder.

The pair were arraigned in Barnstable District Court Wednesday. Sanches will be held pending bail until the Friday dangerousness hearing.

Police did not disclose a motive for the nighttime beach robbery.
