Harwich Port needs you vote to win the title "Happiest Seaside Town".
By William DeSousa-Mauk PR rep for Cape Cod Chamber
Harwich Port is one of the seven villages of Harwich. It is an affluent beach resort which lies on Nantucket Sound. Home to Allen Harbor Yacht Club, Wychmere Beach Club and Saquatucket, Wychmere, and Allen Harbors, this is a true nautical village.
According to the popular lifestyle magazine for people who love the coast, Coastal Living, Harwich Port is also one of America's happiest seaside towns. In fact, Coastal Living is sponsoring a contest which basically pits the lovers of ten seaside towns across America (Harwich Port, MA ;Newport, RI; Kennebunkport, ME; Rowayton, CT; Sag Harbor, NY; Beaufort, SC; Sanibel Island, FL; Pescadero, CA; La Jolla, CA; Paia Town, HI) against one another in a vote which runs through February 28th. In order to vote for your favorite town (presumably Harwich Port) go to coastalliving.com/happytowns2013 and vote for HARIWCH PORT as often as you wish, hourly if you are willing to make the commitment (excepting sleep time), to bring Harwich Port into first place again.
Harwich Port took the lead first on Sunday night and into Monday when the Beaufort, SC contingent swung into action. Then Harwich Port took the lead again this morning (Tuesday, February 5) and now Beaufort, SC is leading; the other eight towns are not really even close.
Coastal Living began with every place it had lauded as a Dream Town over the past 15 years, and took its readers' nominations on Facebook. Then, they their editors on each finalist to define that special "coastal vibe" and mixed it into the formula to create an all-star list from every coast. The results of this contest will then appear in Coastal Living's June 2013 issue (on sale May 17). The towns will be ranked from No. 1 to No. 10, and each town will be featured as part of a cover story devoted to "America's Happiest Seaside Towns." Last year, Coastal Living's list garnered more than 100 million media impressions, and we know you will want Harwich Port to be a part of this historic moment for Cape Cod. We encourage you to rally residents and visitors to vote for Harwich Port. Every time you vote, you will see the current ranking of each of the ten towns.
If you love the Cape as we do, you will want to see that it is recognized, via Harwich Port's winning status, as a wonderfully happy place to live, work and play. We ask that you please vote for Harwich Port as often as you are able, that you share this link with your friends and family and even your guests if you are a hotel owner. The publicity value of this contest is tremendous and would bring tremendous visibility and increased attention and visitation to our Cape.
PLEASE VOTE FOR HARWICH PORT DAILY, HOURLY, AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN. PLEASE SHARE THE LINK coastalliving.com/happytowns2013, ENCOURAGE FRIENDS AND FAMILY, GUESTS AND RELATIVE ACROSS THE USA AND OVERSEAS TO PARTICIPATE.
