The Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station is back online as of 1:47 p.m. Monday afternoon. The power station was taken offline manually on Thursday morning at 7:55 a.m. following an electrical fault.
The source of the fault was located by technicians who replaced a breaker and corrected a ground fault associated with the feedwater cooling system, according to Carol Wightman, the spokesperson for Entergy, the parent company of Pilgrim.
"We also took advantage of the plant being offline to perform other maintenance that cannot be done while the plant is operating," Wightman said.
Offline for four days, Pilgrim is now reconnected to the New England electric transmission grid.
