On Friday State Fire Marshal Stephen D. Coan announced the graduation of the 201st class of the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy. A graduation ceremony was held on Friday to recognize the twenty-four male graduates of the rigorous 45-day program.
The twenty-four graduates represent six municipalities across the commonwealth: Attleboro, Bourne, Lynn, Methuen, Norwood and Taunton.
Locally, the Bourne Fire Department is represented by Nichols S. Reis.
The ceremony was held at the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services in Stow. The guest speaker at the graduation was Career Recruit Firefighter Training Coordinator Bruce Gauvin.
