Update: Two killed, one injured in Plymouth crash

PLYMOUTH - Plymouth and State Police are investigating a head-on crash that killed two people and injured another. The crash occurred on Federal Furnace Road around 12:40 a.m. Sunday.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene and two others were transported to area hospitals. One of the two people transported to Jordan Hospital in Plymouth was pronounced at the hospital. NECN is reporting that the two people killed were mother and daughter.

The roadway near 531 Federal Furnace Road was closed for hours as authorities investigated.

The names of those involved and the extent of their injuries is not known at this time.

Police are investigating the cause of the fatal crash.
