SOUTH DENNIS - Dennis police have identified the man killed after being struck by an SUV Saturday night on Upper County Road as 52-year-old Steven Theilman of Center Street in South Dennis.
Witnesses told police that Mr. Theilman was walking with another man on Center Street around 8:30 p.m. when he "suddenly" ran across Upper County Road and was struck by a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 28-year-old Demion Bucknor of Dennis.
Patrolman Russ Francis was the first officer on the scene and immediately began first aid on Mr. Theilman who was unresponsive. Dennis Fire & Rescue arrived at the scene and transported the victim to Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis where he was pronounced dead.
Mr. Bucknor has not be charged, police said.
The investigation into the fatal accident is under investigation by Dennis police. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. James Sullivan at 508-394-1315.
