MATTAPOISETT - A two-month long investigation by the State Police Cape Cod Drug Task Force lead to the arrest of a Wareham man on Saturday, September 21. According to a Yarmouth police release, the task force suspected 34-year-old Michael J. Ravida of 112 Kriston Lane in Wareham of selling illegal drugs on Cape Cod.
Authorities believe Ravida was traveling between New Jersey and Cape Cod and selling the illegal drugs in Wareham, Yarmouth and other Cape towns.
At 3:40 a.m. on September 21, members of the task force stopped Ravida in the eastbound lane of Route 6 in Mattapoisett. Officers seized 141 doses of Oxycodone and 67 doses of Adderall reportedly found secreted in a hidden compartment in Ravida's 2004 Cadillac.
Ravida, who is a convicted felon, was placed under arrest and transported to the State Police Barracks in Bourne where he was booked and held until his arraignment in Barnstable District Court on Monday, September 23. Ravida was charged with felony possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute-subsequent offense and felony distribution of a Class B substance-subsequent offense.
The State Police Cape Cod Drug Task Force is comprised of State Police troopers, members of the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office and officers from local police departments including the Yarmouth Police Department, the Harwich Police Department, the Mashpee Police Department and the Wareham Police Department.
