Registration for Bourne kindergarten set for March 12 & 13

Two days, no appointment neccessary

Bourne Public Schools (BPS) have announced the registration days for the 2014-2015 kindergarten year. Children who will be 5-years-old as of September 1, 2014 will be eligible to enroll.

This year, there will be two full-day Kindergarten classes, one at Bournedale Elementary School and one at Peebles Elementary School. Placements will be made available through a lottery system.

If your child is not chosen in the full-day lottery, he/she will attend the half-day class.

The registration days are Wednesday, March 12 and Thursday, March 13 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Bournedale Elementary School, 41 Ernest Valeri Road in Bournedale. Registration and screening should take 40 minutes.

Parents must bring proof of residency, the child's birth certificate and updated health/immunization records.

A lottery number for the full-day classes will be issued with the registration packet. According to a BPS release, the numbers will be posted on the Bourne school website by March 17.

The full-day lottery will be held at the Jonathan Bourne Public Library, 19 Sandwich Road in Bourne on Wednesday, March 26 at 6 p.m. The lottery is open to the public.
