Democrats gathered at the Moonakis Cafe on Friday to show support for their pick for governor, Don Berwick. Berwick was joined by State Senator Dan Wolf, a one time opponent, now supporter.

Cafe owner and Berwick supporter Paul Rifkin asked the men why Wolf was supporting Berwick? The State Senator, who is seeking re-election to his current post, said Berwick is "much better than I."

Berwick told the full house that Wolf is a "man of great integrity who values principle over the strangulating triangulation that appeals to most politicians."

Berwick, a former Medicare/Medicaid director and pediatrician, is one of three Democratic candidates for governor. He told the crowd that when he was considering a run against then candidate Wolf, his wife said it was fine, but she would be voting for Dan.

Wolf, who announced his bid for the corner office in August 2013, had dropped out of the race by October 2013 following a kerfuffle with the state's Ethics Commission.

Rifkin called the rally a "much needed reinvigoration of progressive values on Cape Cod".

Over 100 people attended the event last Friday.
