This coming weekend, Saturday and Sunday, August 23 and 24, is the last weekend of the Back-to-School Clothing Drive for Katelynn's Closet. The event has been held each weekend in August from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
As shoppers stock up on back-to-school clothing and supplies for their own children, they are encouraged to help out Cape Cod children in need at the same time.
The event is hosted by the Cape Cod Mall. Katelynn's Closet representatives will be in the Sear's wing of the Cape Cod Mall on August 23 and 24 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. They will have tags available indicating items they need including clothing, accessories and school supplies. Tags will including size, gender and any other pertinent details.
Katelynn's Closet is a South Yarmouth-based non-profit that collects new and "gently-used" clothing for Cape Cod kids ages 4 to 18. The organization helps children in trying times to maintain their dignity and self-esteem by providing stylish clothing that fits the needs of the recipient, according to their website.
The Cape Cod Mall is on Route 132 in Hyannis. Katelynn's Closet is at 45 Commercial Street in South Yarmouth.
