Woman dies in East Falmouth house fire

43 year old Falmouth woman pronounced dead at scene

Statement from Falmouth Police:

Police & Fire Officials are investigating a fatal house fire that happened today on Edgewater Drive East.

At about 12:03 pm Thursday, the Falmouth Communications Center received a report of a house fire on Edgewater Drive East in East Falmouth.

Falmouth Fire & Rescue arrived and immediately entered the house. Firefighters found one person inside the home. The female victim, age 43 of Falmouth, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The incident is being investigated by the Falmouth Police Dept., Falmouth Fire & Rescue Dept., Mass State Fire Marshal’s Office, and Mass State Police Detective’s Unit assigned to the Cape & Island’s District Attorney’s Office.

Police have closed Hartwell Drive (east side) and Edgewater Drive East between Churchill Drive and Atwater Drive due to a house fire.
