Monday, August 7, 12:00pm “FREE PIZZA AND A MOVIE!”

Join us for free pizza, as we watch the showing of “LION”! Five year old Saroo gets lost on a train which takes him thousands of miles across India, away from home and family. Saroo must learn to survive alone in Kolkata, before ultimately being adopted by an Australiancouple. Twenty-five years later, armed with only a    handful of memories, his unwavering determination, and a revolutionary technology known as Google Earth, he sets out to find his lost family and finally return to his first home.  Starring:Dev Patel,RooneyMara,David Wenhamand Nicole Kidman. Monday August 14, 12pm  Lunch and a Show -“ENDLESS SUMMER –PARADISE PARTY!”

Come Join Us for an Endless Summer Paradise Beach Party!  Wear yourfavorite beach bum ortropical outfits, and get ready to enjoy the best of beach summer fun, while we stay cool inside! We will serve a delicious lunch of Pesto Crusted Chicken with a Roasted Tomato Salsa, Garlic Bread and Caesar Salad, and some heavenly Angel Food Cake with Fresh Fruit for dessert. After lunch, we will be entertained with some of your favorite musical sounds of summer, by local solo guitarist and vocalist, Nick Pangakis, who has been performing throughout Cape Cod for years.Ticketsare$9. The Chatham COA will be offering transportation to and from Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s on August 16th.  Seniors are invited to visit the Whole Food’s store for a variety of different events, samplings and educational classes. The van makes a second stop at Trader Joe’s in Hyannis. The event begins at 10am; the COA van will leave Chatham at 9am. Monday August 21, 10am FREE DAYTRIP—A Visit to the Vietnam Moving Wall Ceremony

The Moving Wall is a traveling tribute display, which is a half-sized replica of the Vietnam   Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C.  The Wall is coming to Wareham, and will be set up adjacent to the Wareham Middle School on the Anderson Track. On Monday, August 21st, the ceremony begins at 10:00 AM and will include: Music, Color Guard, Pledge and Guest Speaker Presentation.  There will be seating during the Ceremony, which is located on the track, adjacent to the Wall. Following the Ceremony, patrons may make rubbings of names on the Wall, and volunteers will be available to help assist visitors infinding particular names. Significant Walking is Required.  Comfortable Walking Shoes are a must. Please plan accordingly for sunny weather—Hats, Sunscreen, and Parasols are advised.  Bus departs the COA at 8 am.Space is limited. Reservations are required. Monday August28, 1pm MOVIE MONDAYS at the COA CINEMA, FREE!

“THE DRESSMAKER”tells the story of the beautiful and talented Tilly Dunnage. After years working as a dressmaker in exclusive Parisian fashion houses, Tilly returns home to a town in the Australian outback to reconcile with her eccentric mother Molly. She also falls in love with the pure-hearted Teddy; armed with her sewing machine and haute couture style, Tilly transforms the women of the town, exacting sweet revenge on those who did her wrong. Starring: Kate Winslet, Liam Hemsworth, Judy Davis.
