A generous grant from Cape Air has provided support for 200 children from the Cape Cod Child Development summer program to visit Heritage Museums & Gardens in August.
Day-long excursions to Heritage ran from August 7-11 for the preschool children, who explored the gardens, nature trails, and exhibits, participated in a scavenger hunt, and enjoyed a range of fun, interactive activities.
Ellen Spear, President and CEO of Heritage Museums & Gardens, said, “We are deeply appreciative of the generous support provided by Cape Air and their dedication to their community. Cape Air shares our commitment to provide access for all by giving children a day of outdoor discovery and learning at Heritage. These outdoor experiences can change a child’s perspective on the world. Cape Air is giving more than a field trip for children—they are giving kids confidence, curiosity about the world, and wellness.”
“Cape Air remains committed to supporting the communities where we live and work,” said Cape Air President Linda Markham. “It is our sincere hope that sharing the magic of Heritage Museums & Gardens with local children will heighten their sense of curiosity and wonder for the world around them.”
“We are extremely grateful to Cape Air, who sponsored more than 200 preschoolers from Cape Cod Child Development to explore the exhibits and outdoor environment at Heritage,” said Anne Colwell, CEO of Cape Cod Child Development. “For many of these children, sponsored field trips are their only opportunity to enjoy the cultural and environmental wonders of Cape Cod. These new experiences will broaden their horizons and continue to benefit them as they continue to grow in our community.”
