Yarmouth Police: Cape Cod Baseball League to Honor Sgt. Gannon

“Special Announcement”

Today the Cape Cod Baseball League held their season kickoff brunch at the 99 Restaurant in W. Yarmouth.It was attended by over 100 coaches, general managers, franchise representatives and media.

League Commissioner Paul A. Galop announced that this season is dedicated to honoring Sgt. Sean Gannon. A commemorative badge pin was made and will be worn on the hats of all Cape League players. The League purchased over 5,000 pins that will be sold and the proceeds will be donated the the Yarmouth Police Foundation.

Additionally, on July 8th at Red Wilson Field in S. Yarmouth, the YD Red Sox with host Sgt. Sean Gannon Night. The team will wear special “Gannon” game jerseys and will honor Sgt. Gannon during the night.

All team Managers were on hand and were introduced by WEEI Sports Reporter Rob Bradford.

The Cape Cod Baseball League is the premiere collegiate baseball league. The first round on the 2018 MLB Draft was dominated by 12 of the first 32 picks being League Alumni.
