The Board of Directors of the Cape Cod Landscape Association is pleased to announce that they are awarding a total of $9,000 in scholarships for 2018. The Mike Stacy Memorial Scholarships are awarded to Cape Cod students who will pursue a career in the green industry.

The recipients of this year’s Mike Stacy Memorial Scholarship are: Avery Maher of Cotuit to attend UMASS - Amherst, Miles Camphina of West Wareham to attend UMASS - Amherst, Carl Meuller of Centerville to attend UMASS - Amherst, Isabelle Helman of Manchester, CT, to attend University of New Haven, Cameron Faszewski of Marstons Mills to attend Boston University, Scott Barattini of Osterville to attend UMASS - Lowell, Sarah Huber of Brewster to attend Worcester Poly Technical, Charles DeSimone of Dennis to attend University of Kentucky, Ryan Beaton of East Sandwich to attend Cornell University, Emma Bersin of Eastham to attend UMASS - Amherst, Bailey Nancy of Pocasset to attend Merrimack College, Nicholas Gould of West Harwich to attend Stonewall College, Eliza Shaughnessy of Centerville to attend the University of Vermont, and Greta Shaughnessy of Centerville to attend Johnson and Wales University.

The CCLA scholarship fund is in honor of Mike Stacy, a native of Cape Cod, active member of CCLA and owner of Mike Stacy Landscaping. Mr. Stacy passed away in August of 1989. Lacking a formal education in horticulture, Mr. Stacy was acutely aware of the importance of continually expanding his knowledge and appreciated the educational and professional opportunities gained through his involvement with CCLA. It is fitting that others be afforded the opportunity to further their education and careers through this fund in his name.

Funds for the scholarships are raised by CCLA’s Annual Golf Tournament to benefit the Mike Stacy Memorial Fund. This year’s Golf Tournament is set for Saturday, October 13, 2018, at the Hyannis Golf Club. Sponsorships are available. Registration for the tournament will open soon. Cape Cod Landscape Association is a 501 c3 – registered non-profit.
