Provincetown, MA —The third annual Provincetown Book Festival, scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 14 – 16, will feature fiction writers Amy Bloom, Curtis Sittenfeld, and J. Courtney Sullivan; National Book Award winner James Carroll; poet and memoirist Eileen Myles; and best-selling suspense writer Hank Phillippi Ryan.
The Provincetown Book Festival is three days of literary events for readers, writers, and book lovers of all kinds. All events are free and open to the public. The Provincetown Book Festival is sponsored by the Provincetown Public Library.
Special programs include a cooking demonstration by Chef Justin Chapple, guest chef on the Today Show, with commentary by beer and wine expert Tom Acitelli.
Aspiring writers and in-the-know readers will appreciate a panel on “The Business of Books,” with James Melia, Flatiron Books Editor, and Gayatri Patnaik, Editorial Director at Beacon Press, plus literary agents Sarah Bedingfield and Adam Chromy, moderated by fiction writer Jamie Brenner.
There will also be programs on young people's literature, with authors Jabari Asim, Jay Coles, Gayle Forman, Martin Wilson and Ellen Wittlinger.
Saturday, September 15, will feature “Authors Al Fresco,” regional authors and publishers offering book sales, signings, and information about their publications, on the Library lawn.
