Grand Opening of Dog Park at Hathaway's Pond

November 10th in Hyannis

The Friends of Barnstable Dog Parks (“The Friends”) are excited to announce a Grand Opening Event scheduled for Saturday 11/10/18 from 11am to 2pm at the dog park located at 1431 Phinney's Lane in Hyannis.

This Grand Opening event will celebrate the hard work and dedication that it took to bring this beautiful new park to fruition, and introduce the community to the next steps of maintaining and expanding the facilities at the park with the help of “The Friends.” The Dog Park at Hathaway’s Pond is a private/public partnership between the Town of Barnstable and the Friends of Barnstable Dog Parks 501c3 organization.

The Grand Opening will also showcase the brand new dog park space, and will have educational materials and dog treats and food samples from Pawsitive Provisions and Country Gardens. Spark the Bark Mobile Pet Grooming will be there from 12-2 doing free dog nail clipping. The Daily Paper is providing free coffee, and “The Friends” will be there signing up volunteers.

About Friends of Barnstable Dog Parks: “The Friends” is a group of volunteer individuals who have worked hard to bring a well-maintained space open to all dog lovers and friends. Once the park is opened (on 10/31/18) “The Friends” will continue as volunteers to maintain the property and to fund-raise to cover the cost of the park maintenance and to uphold the policies and regulations that govern the park. Our Mission is to: Promote responsible dog ownership, Educate the community about dog behavior, and Advocate for the rights and interests of the more than 3,000 Barnstable dog owners.
