Wareham Police Investigating Loaded Gun Found in J.C. Penny Dressing Room

The Wareham Police Department is investigating after a loaded gun was found in a dressing room of the J.C. Penny store at Wareham Crossing on Saturday.

Massachusetts State Police initially responded to the call, as Wareham police officers were attending to the dobule-fatal train strike.  Troopers reportedly took control of the weapon.  The owner of the gun was located and the weapon left with Wareham Police offiers.

Police indicated this appears to be an accidental incident, charges may be forthcoming once officers complete their investigation.
