Town of Barnstable Road Work Alert for 12/13/18

Road Work on Sea Street in Hyannis

From the Town of Barnstable:

Road Work on Sea Street in Hyannis

Construction for the Sea Street Improvements project is scheduled to commence on December 13. The Town’s contractor for this project is Robert B. Our Company. The initial construction activities this month are planned to include installing construction signs and erosion controls, deploying a construction field office trailer in the parking lot at Keyes Memorial Beach, and establishing survey controls for drainage improvements, subject to weather and other factors.

Construction is scheduled to continue through mid-May 2019, then cease for the summer, and then resume after Labor Day through December 2019. The Department of Public Works will provide weekly updates in the Barnstable eWeekly newsletter available online at www.townofbarnstable.us/TownManager .

Traffic will be maintained on Sea Street throughout construction. During active construction in the roadway there will be lane closures with police details to direct traffic. During lane closures and shoulder work traffic may be delayed and motorists are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid the construction area.

As always, please slow down and use extreme caution when traveling through the road construction areas and detour routes and follow posted safety and detour signs.
