4th Annual Santana Fund Benefit

Helping less fortunate patients of Animal Hospital of Orleans...

ORLEANS, MA - For the fourth year in a row, the Animal Hospital of Orleans will be holding their Santana Fund Benefit. This year’s benefit features The Grab Brothers Band along with Patrick’s Music Bingo, K9 Officer Ella Demo, a silent auction, raffles, and more!

The Santana Fund Benefit will be held on Sunday, March 31, 2019, from 1 PM to 5 PM, at the Hog Island Beer Co., 28 West Road, Orleans, MA.  A $5 suggested donation at door will include a raffle ticket for door prize and a music bingo card (while supplies last). All proceeds benefit the Santana Fund directly and the Animal Hospital of Orleans matches all donations – dollar for dollar.

In today's tough economy, veterinarians are finding that many pets are often unable to receive the life-saving care that they need due to their owners' financial situation. One of the most heart-wrenching parts of our job as veterinary professionals is to see a pet euthanized or go untreated due to financial constraints.

At the Animal Hospital of Orleans, we created The Santana Fund to help in just these situations. Through charitable donations from our hospital, staff, and caring clients, we have been able to accumulate money to help many of our patients receive the specialty care that they needed, but their owners were financially unable to provide.

In memory of Dr. Bohon’s first dog, Santana, the fund exists to provide an alternative to euthanasia and preserve the importance of the human-animal bond.  “Our pets give so much to us and ask so little in return. Santana was with me through my difficult teenage years, college, marriage, and the first three years of veterinary school.  I think the Santana Fund is one way for me to recognize how much our pets enrich our lives." - Karen Bohon, DVM
