From the Dennis Fire Department:

The Dennis fire department responded to a pumping station belonging to the Dennis water district at 525 Old Bass River Road for a reported brush fire. The fire, which was on the side of the road, was reported at 09:34am and was approximately 200 feet in length when fire crews arrived. The fire was quickly extinguished with the assistance of the department’s brush truck and fire engine. The Dennis police shut down Old Bass River Road for a short time because of drifting smoke.

The cause is under investigation with all indications leaning towards careless disposal of smoking material.

No one was injured during the incident.
