Mass Casualty Incident Declared After Car Crashes into Brewster Bakery

Four people were injured this afternoon when a car crashed into the Eat Cake 4 Breakfast Bakery at 302 Underpass Road in Brewster.  A Level 1 Mass Casualty Incident was declared, summoning multiple ambulances to the scene.

The driver of a BMW sedan apparently lost control of her vehicle and crashed through the front door of the bakery at approximately 12:40 p.m.

According to reports from the scene, three of the four injured patients were transported to Cape Cod Hospital.  None of the injuries were reported to be life-threatening.

A building inspector called to the scene declared the front part of the structure uninhabitable. 

Brewster Police continue to investigate this incident. No further information is available at this time.
