Orleans Memorial Day Observance

This Monday, May 27th at 10:00 am., there will be a Memorial Day service starting at the Town Cove by the Yacht Club to honor past members of the Navy and Coast Guard, with a prayer and wreath laying from the town dock. From there all visitors may march with the Honor Guards (American Legion Post 308, Brewster VFW, Orleans Police and Fire) to the Memorial Stones, located at Academy Place. The service will continue honoring the Marine Corps, Army and Air Force. 

Scheduled to participate in the event will be- American Legion Post 308, Brewster VFW, Orleans Police Honor Guard, Orleans Fire Department Honor Guard, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Daisy troop, Sea Scouts, Nauset Regional Middle School Band and Chorus.

There will be a dedication for the new Korean war/ Viet Nam war memorial plaque. 

Various speakers are planned for the event, both retired and active members of the military as well as Fire Chaplin Wesley Williams.

Following the event, the Fellowship Hall at the Methodist Church will have its doors open, so folks can meet and mingle with members of the Military who will remain on location. The church, as well as the Orleans Fire Department will provide hot dogs, cookies and various snacks will be available. No rain date is scheduled.
