Falmouth, MA - Falmouth Community Television (FCTV) is currently enrolling members in new media classes at the new Falmouth Community Media Center at 310 Dillingham Avenue.

Event Camera, a one-session workshop, is scheduled for Monday, July 15th at 6:00pm. This one session course guides participants through the setup and proper operation of cameras for multi-camera field productions such as Falmouth Commodores games or the Falmouth Christmas Parade or simple one-camera coverage of events such as lectures at the Falmouth Library, Museums on the Green, the Marine Biological Laboratory or other local venues. FCTV is currently looking for volunteer producers to document the many such lectures and presentations that occur throughout Falmouth, and this workshop is intended to give members instruction on creating such programs to share with the community. FCTV membership is required to take this course.

Intro To Studio begins Wednesday, July 17th. In this four-session course, participants learn how to produce studio television programs with little or no post-production needed. Hands-on instruction includes all the basics required to produce a multi-camera television show: camera and control room operations, audio, lighting, technical and floor directing and basic directing. FCTV encourages all members to enroll in this course as it will be the first opportunity to learn studio production in the brand new Falmouth Community Media Center main studio. FCTV membership is required to take this course.

In addition to these and other media classes, FCTV is offering the first of several “Funtime Friday” animation classes for children ages 6-12 on this Friday morning, July 12 from 10am to 12noon. Children must be accompanied by an adult, up to three children per adult. Participants will have an opportunity to learn clay puppet making, storytelling, and “Claymation” techniques while working in groups. The fee for this program is $20 for the first child and $15 for each additional child. There is a space limit of twelve children so call 508-457-0800 to register today. The next “Funtime Friday” will be held Friday morning, August 9th from 10am to 12noon.

FCTV is now offering an entire curriculum of new media, internet and computer classes. For a full listing, see the FCTV website at www.fctv.org.
