Trespasser Struck on Railroad Tracks in Wareham

41 year old man suffered serious injuries...

A 41 year old man trespassing on the railroad tracks in Wareham was struck by the Boston-bound Cape Flyer at about 8 p.m. Saturday.  The incident happened near the Hathaway Street railway crossing.

The man was transported first to Tobey Hospital and then to a Boston trauma center with reportedly serious injuries.  Foul play is not suspected at this time.

A second train was dispatched to retrieve the passengers, who were on their way around 11 p.m.

The incident is under investigation by the Massachusetts Transit Police.
