From the Oak Bluffs Police Department:

The police/fire patrol deployed tonight at about 8:00 PM for a report of two swimmers who were stranded on a water float and drifting out to sea.

The boat crew successfully located the swimmers approximately a 1/2 mile from shore hanging on to the pictured float. The float had lost some air and neither party was wearing a life jacket.

The parties were uninjured and they were safely transported back to shore.

We are very thankful for this outcome and want to remind everyone to be very cautious while swimming, and be aware of the winds and currents.
