FALMOUTH, MA—“The Twig Family in the Oak Tree” puppet show, created by Deborah Costine Nature Puppets, will be held at the Museums on the Green in Falmouth on Thursday, August 1, from 4:30-5:30 pm.
This original story (best for ages 3 and up) seeks to encourage children to be curious about the natural world and to spend time in it. The show uses freestanding “puppets,” a family of “twig” people who live in harmony with nature. The Oak Tree provides Leaf, Fern and their daughter Mossy with everything they need for a happy life: oxygen for fresh air, leaves that collect rainwater to drink and acorns to grind into dough for bread. That’s why they’re surprised when nervous Cousin Lawn shows up determined they should leave their home.
The event is presented by the Museums on the Green and Dream Tale Puppets with funding from the Falmouth Cultural Council and Mass Cultural Council.
The show will be held in the Museums’ Cultural Center, located at 55 & 65 Palmer Avenue in Falmouth. Seating is limited. Tickets are $10. For reservations visit museumsonthegreen.org or call 508.548.4857.
