The Cape Cod Commission is preparing for the sixth annual OneCape summit, an energizing two-day event held at the Wequassett Resort and Golf Club in Harwich on July 29 and 30, 2019 that provides an opportunity for a region-wide conversation on the unique intersections of Cape Cod’s environment and economy.
More than three hundred local elected leaders, municipal staff and appointed board members, industry practitioners, community leaders, and activists come together for stimulating, productive conversations revolving around Cape Cod’s most critical issues. This year will explore the natural, built, and community systems of Cape Cod and ongoing efforts to become a more resilient region.
“OneCape is an opportunity for the Cape Cod Commission to convene economic and environmental leaders and experts and facilitate important discussions focused on enriching our community,” says Cape Cod Commission Executive Director Kristy Senatori. “We look forward to working together to address critical issues facing our region.”
Members of Governor Charlie Baker’s cabinet, including Secretary of Housing and Economic Development Mike Kennealy, and one of Boston’s leading meteorologists, CBS-Boston’s Eric Fisher are among the featured speakers.
The two-day summit features a full slate of expert speakers on topics including implementing solutions for clean water, resilient communities, balancing Cape Cod’s environment and economy, the Blue Economy, housing diversity, and the social impacts of Cape Cod’s key challenges. Cape Cod Commission staff will be on hand to demonstrate interactive planning and resiliency tools, and breakout sessions will offer an opportunity for in-depth discussions on key topics.
