The MSPCA’s three animal shelters in Centerville, Jamaica Plain and Methuen will make dozens of animals available for adoption at no fee for one day only: Saturday, Aug. 17th.
The animals made available for no fee are the MSPCA’s harder to place animals: senior dogs, shyer cats, long-term horse residents, etc. Also available for no fee are all rabbits, guinea pigs, parakeets, mice, hamsters and other small pets that most people believe must be bought at a pet store vs. rescued from a shelter.
The no-fee adoptathon runs in concert with NBC 10 Boston’s annual “Clear the Shelters” campaign, which is designed to spotlight animal adoption across the country, including here in Boston.
The MSPCA has staged more than a dozen fee-waived adoptathons in the last five years and nearly 3,000 animals have found homes as a result.
A full list of animals available for adoption for no fee is included on mspca.org with the “Hero Needed” tag on each animal’s profile.
