Search for winter seabirds along Cape Cod Canal

December 7th with Buzzards Bay Coalition...

BOURNE, Mass. – The arrival of winter weather also means an extraordinary array of migratory birds arriving around the Cape! Join the Buzzards Bay Coalition to seek out these winter visitors along the Cape Cod Canal, starting at the Mass Maritime Academy (Academy Dr., Bourne) on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 8:00-10:00 a.m.

With the guidance of experienced birders, you’ll spend the morning at key locations along the Canal viewing the waterbirds that utilize this area as a wintering ground. All levels of birders welcome!

To RSVP for this free event, visit https://www.savebuzzardsbay.org/events/sighting-seabirds-at-the-canal-dec-07-2019/ or contact the Buzzards Bay Coalition at (508) 999-6363 ext. 219.

A warm coat, hat, and gloves are highly recommended. Please bring binoculars if you have them. Pairs will also be available to borrow. We will travel to different locations along the canal, so if you are coming with family or friends, please carpool if possible.

This walk is part of Discover Buzzards Bay, a resource to find unique and exciting ways to explore the outdoors, get some exercise and connect with nature. Use Discover Buzzards Bay to get outside and discover woods, wetlands and waterways from Fall River to Falmouth. To learn more, visit savebuzzardsbay.org/discover.
