Cape Cod Genealogical Society Will Talk Plymouth 400

January 21st in Brewster...

The Cape Cod Genealogical Society meeting will feature Ron Peterson, Chairman of the Orleans Historical Commission, who will discuss a forgotten perspective on the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower and the founding of Plymouth Colony.  What do we know about the Native Americans who occupied the land before the arrival of the Mayflower? How were their actions and behaviors influenced when they saw white sails with increasing frequency? What were the relations between the Wampanoags and the Plymouth Pilgrims?  Mr. Peterson, who is working with CapeCod2020 to recognize the Cape Cod role in the Plymouth 400 commemoration, will share his view on this time in our nation’s history.  Tuesday, January 21st, 10 a.m., Brewster Ladies’ Library, Rt. 6A. Guests welcome. Come early for coffee and donuts.
