From the National Weather Service:

Another very cold day with thickening clouds and highs mainly in the 20s. Snow arrives across western MA/northern CT after 3 or 4 pm and into eastern MA/RI after 5 or 6 pm. Snow accumulates immediately on cold roads. Brunt of snow occurs this evening with difficult travel.

Winter Storm Briefing - Snow overspreads the region from west to east between 3 and 6 PM. Snow sticks immediately to cold roads and travel will be difficult this evening with several inches expected. Bulk of the snow is over by midnight, ending as light rain near the coast.

A chance of snow after 5pm. Cloudy, with a high near 30. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming south in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Tonight
Rain showers and snow, becoming all rain after midnight. Patchy fog after 1am. Temperature rising to around 42 by 2am. South wind 11 to 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Partly sunny, with a high near 41. West wind around 16 mph.

A chance of snow showers, mainly after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
