Orleans, MA - The new Express Mart convenience store has opened at the Hilltop Plaza, 180 Route 6a, in Orleans.  The family-owned shop occupies the decades-long former site of Tedeschi's Food Shop.

Express Mart carries basic convenience store fare and features Beantown brand coffee.  The store held a soft opening on Friday, January 17, 2020 and will be adding to its offerings each week.  The store manager expects to hold a grand opening in March.

The store has the familiar layout of the former Tedeschi's with new refreshment and beverage set-ups and a sit down counter.  There is something of a general store feel to the place, especially with the friendly staff and the comfortable sofa seating in the front left corner of the store.

Cape Cod Today visited Express Mart on the morning of its second day in business.  Observing the bright "Open" sign in the window, a continuous stream of citizens popped in to say hello, check out the offerings and to welcome the store to town.  Customers generally seemed pleased to see the store open.  "This store has been dark since last spring when Tedeschi's closed," observed one customer.  "We need a store like this at this location. It's convenient for the condo dwellers in the area and has much more accessible parking than some other stores in the area."

We look forward to following Express Mart as they grow into their new location.  The Beantown coffee, by the way, is absolutely delicious!
