Sturgis Charter's One Act Plays Open Friday

Hyannis, MA - Sturgis Charter Public High School students from both the East and West campuses are getting ready for opening night for their one act plays, taking place this weekend. They rehearsed all week during “tech week” at Cape Cod Theatre Company. Sturgis East will be performing Mother Courage and Her Children, a one act play by Bertolt Brecht, while Sturgis West will be performing Dark Road by Laura Lundgren Smith. Both of the plays center around the topic of war, and how it can impact families. The schools will go on to compete against each other and several other schools in the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild festival on February 29 at Duxbury High School.

The show opens Friday evening at 7:00. Full schedule as follows:

  • Saturday, February 8, 7pm
  • Sunday, February 9, 2pm

General admission tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for students, and can be purchased at the door or reserved ahead of time by emailing [email protected].
