A large and powerful thunderstorm is moving towards Buzzards Bay (they bay, not the village). It will pass over Buzzards Bay, and then hit the upper Cape.

Here's the NWS warning, and here's the radar.

It's moving SW to NE. Falmouth may actually get damage, while it may be sunny in Chatham. I'm hearing thunder and getting raindrops in Buzzards Bay.

Get indoors if you aren't there.

AREAS AFFECTED INCLUDE... BLOCK ISLAND SOUND... BUZZARDS BAY... COASTAL WATERS FROM MONTAUK NY TO MARTHAS VINEYARD EXTENDING OUT TO 20 NM SOUTH OF BLOCK ISLAND... NARRAGANSETT BAY... RHODE ISLAND SOUND... VINEYARD SOUND...
AT 310 PM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS OR APPROACHING THE SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND COASTAL WATERS FROM BLOCK ISLAND SOUND EAST TO NARRAGANSETT BAY AND VINEYARD SOUND.
A SPECIAL MARINE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 345 PM FOR BLOCK ISLAND SOUND...RHODE ISLAND SOUND...AND SOUTHERN NARRAGANSETT BAY.
ELSEWHERE ACROSS THE SOUTHERN COASTAL WATERS...THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING WIND GUSTS OF 20 TO 30 KNOTS AND FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
EXPECT WIND GUSTS TO AROUND 30 KNOTS...BRIEFLY ROUGH SEAS...AND LIGHTNING STRIKES. CONSIDER HEADING FOR SAFE HARBOR OR REMAINING BELOW DECK UNTIL THIS STORM PASSES.
FREQUENT LIGHTNING IS EXPECTED WITH SOME STORMS. HEAD TO SAFE HARBOR...OR STAY BELOW DECK IF POSSIBLE AND KEEP AWAY FROM UNGROUNDED METAL OBJECTS.
