Hyannis Youth & Community Center - April 8-14

Spring has sprung at the Hyannis Youth & Community Center! Now that the winter sports teams have finished their seasons, we have a few moments to take a breath and do some spring cleaning!  For the first time in the nine years the building has been open, our hardworking team of maintenance professionals are planning to shut down the entire facility from April 29th - May 13th with work to include, but not be limited to, locker rooms, both ice rinks and the main lobby.  Starting on May 7th, the Main Lobby will reopen to accommodate Beach Parking Permit sales which will begin that day and continue throughout the summer Monday - Saturday 9AM-4PM; Sunday & Holidays 9AM-12PM.  An Open House is planned for Friday, May 18th from 6-8PM when we will offer free admission for Public Skating and Open Gym/Game Room.  The Scudder Family Cafe operated by the Casual Gourmet will be open for business as well as the new Barnstable Youth Hockey Pro Shop.  All are welcome to come and enjoy the results of our rejuvenation project!

In the meantime, next week's schedule for public activities can be found here

Tomorrow, we look forward to seeing our HYCC Skating School participants show off the skills they have improved upon throughout the year.  The theme for the annual skating show is "Peace, Love, Dance on Ice" and will include skaters of all ages and abilities performing to music set to the theme; all are sure to enjoy this beloved event.  Admission is free but donations are gratefully accepted and help to cover the cost of props and costumes.  There is space available in all of the classes for the spring session of HYCC Skating School.  For more information, and to register for any program online, please visit the web site.
