Along the Breakfast Trail at The Blue Plate Diner

There is nothing as good as someone else cooking me my breakfast and cleaning up afterwards. Maybe that is part of my reason for going out in the morning searching for that next great breakfast spot to eat and right now is even better because we don't have to wait in long lines to enjoy all those special breakfast selections. It hasn't been hard to find a great breakfast place here on Cape Cod because we have so many as opposed to other areas in Massachusetts. And each stop allows us to sample specials and enjoy the scenic views in each area, not to mention some great gift shops along the way. This morning's trek took us to Barnstable almost across from the court house tucked in a little hideaway called The Blue Plate Diner off of Route 6a. Its small but cozy and very clean with some great friendly waitresses who are ready to make your stay a pleasant one. The breakfast choices are simple but very delicious from 3 egg omelets that you design yourself, french toast, pancakes and homemade corned beef hash. They even offer a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel sandwich. I wanted the sweet and savory so I picked the two eggs over easy with crisp home fries, three sausage and french toast. My friend who also likes the savory but wanted her eggs scrambled with bacon, crispy home fries and french toasts. While my other friend who could be considered a connoisseur of her usual breakfast selection because its her stand by order whenever we go out, had scrambled eggs, crisp bacon, crispy home fries and raisin toast which she enjoyed throughly. The coffee was rich, strong and delicious which always makes the breakfast a memoriable meal. So thanks to The Blue Plate Diner and the crew, I will be back to sample more from your menu.
