Man accused of attempted murder of Nstar worker; Yarmouth crash kills 1, closes Route 28; Bicyclist injured in Hyannis crash

Man accused of pulling gun on NStar worker
ORLEANS
- An Orleans man was arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly pulling a gun on an NStar worker who was trying to disconnect the power. The worker told police the man came out of the house with a rifle on Ellis Circle and early this afternoon police from several towns converged on the scene. 44-year old Geoffrey Palmer surrendered without incident. Police reportedly recovered several air rifles and a replica AK-47. Posted on 9/11 at 3:30 PM

Yarmouth crash kills driver, closes Route 28
orlmurderYARMOUTH
- One man was Medflighted to Brigham and Woman's Hospital in Boston but later died and Route 28 was closed for 2 hours after a midday crash. Eyewitnesses reported a Toyota Camry pulled out of Parker's Pub on Route 28 and was struck by
an asphalt truck.

The impact pushed the car some distance leaving these skid marks and impressions in the lawn. The driver of the car was identified as 63-year old James Holway of South Yarmouth. The driver of the truck was not injured.

Yarmouth Police assisted by a Barnstable Police accident reconstruction specialist were on the scene investigating for a couple of hours causing heavy traffic backup in the area and drivers searched for ways around the crash such as Buck Island Road.

Bicyclist seriously injured after hit by vehicle
HYANNIS
- A bicyclist was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle just after noontime. The crash happened on West Main Street near the Doane Beale & Ames Funeral Home. The bicyclist was identified as 22-year old David Robillard of Centerville. Barnstable Police are investigating and no charges have been filed against the driver. Posted on 9/11 at 3:30 PM; updated on 9/11 at 5:00 PM.
