Bourne crashes; Two of trio in identity theft scheme captured; Woman killed in Route 6 crash

Driver critically injured in Bourne rollover
BOURNE - One person was critically injured when their SUV rolled over shortly before 12:30 AM. The crash happened on the ramp from the rotary to Route 25 westbound. The victim Jeffrey Eayrs of Greenville, NY was rushed to Tobey Hospital and its believed later flown to a Boston Hospital. The crash is under investigation by State Police. Further details were not immediately available. 

Woman seriously injured in Bourne crash
BOURNE - Bourne Police are investigating a crash that seriously injured a woman. A SUV crashed rolled on its side and crashed into the trees in the median of the MacArthur Blvd. section of Route 28 near the McDonald's shortly before 8:30 PM Friday evening. Bourne rescuers used the Jaws of Life to free the driver who was taken to the Pocasset fire station on Barlows Landing Road where a Medflight helicopter landed and flew her to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Further details were not immediately available.

YARMOUTH - All of these three individuals wanted in connection with an alleged crime spree involving identity theft and larcenies have now been captured. The department says it has obtained warrants for the arrest of three suspects above involved in a series of thefts involving communities throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The charges entail a variety of crimes such as Larceny-Identity Theft-Conspiracy-and Receiving Stolen Property. The original incident occurred in mid-January with the identity theft of a Yarmouth resident. Once the suspects obtained the false identity, they were able to open bogus accounts and have committed thefts at a variety of locations such as Target, Belden Jewelers, Radio Shack, Kohl's, Loews, and Home Depot.

All three suspects have wide-ranging criminal records involving crimes throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The suspects are believed to be operating a dark green 1992 4-Door SAAB 900S New Hampshire Registration 2268083. The Yarmouth Police Department is working together with several other police agencies and the investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of these suspects should immediately contact local or state police or Yarmouth Police Detective Eric H. Nuss at 508-775-04445 extension 132. Update: It didn't take police long to spot the vehicle and capture two of the three suspects. Dennis Police say about 8:15 PM Friday Patrolman Craig Stevenson, while on routine patrol observed a 1992 SAAB sedan with N.H. registration plates operating on Charles St. in South Dennis. Ptl. Stevenson having knowledge that the owner of the vehicle was wanted on outstanding warrants charging her and another suspect with Breaking & Entering a residence in Dennis in early February, 2007 and stealing blank checks and credit cards (which were later used at various locations in New Hampshire and Massachusetts to purchase approximately ten-thousand dollars worth of merchandise) stopped the vehicle.

Ptl. Stevenson identified the operator as 36-year old Charity A. Emery of Dublin, NH. The passenger in the vehicle was identified, as the male suspect wanted in the Breaking & Entering case 36-year old Joseph E. McKay of Dublin, NH. As the officer was confirming the occupant's information the operator drove away from the scene eluding police but was located a short time later by state police parked in the driveway of a residence on Great Western Rd. in South Yarmouth. Assisted by state and Yarmouth police Ms. Emery was arrested when she answered the door of the residence and Mr. McKay was located hiding inside the residence. Both suspects were transported to the Dennis Police station.

Both subjects are charged with Breaking & Entering a residence and Larceny from a Building. Ms. Emery is also being charged with Failure to Stop for a Police Officer and Mr. McKay is also being charged as a Fugitive from Justice for a parole violation from the State of New Hampshire on earlier Fraud and Threats charges in that state. Ms. Emery is being held, at the Barnstable County House of Correction, in lieu of $1,000 cash bail. Mr. McKay is being held, at the Barnstable County House of Correction, without bail. Both subjects are due for arraignment in Orleans District Court on Monday.

Police investigate store break-in in Yarmouth
YARMOUTH - Yarmouth Police are investigating a break-in at a Yarmouthport store early this morning. Police tell CWN they responded to a burglar alarm at the Yarmouthport Village Store on Route 6A in Yarmouthport about 3:15 AM.  Yarmouth Police Patrol Officers Kevin L. Antonovitch and Neal P. Donohue arrived at the store and immediately found a southeast window smashed open.  The Patrol Officers secured the scene and called for a K9 unit and a Crime Scene Investigator.
