Two stabbed in Hyannis; Harwich crash; Mashpee fire

Three stabbed in Hyannis
HYANNIS - Three people were stabbed in Hyannis early Sunday morning. Police were called to the parking lot of the Pufferbellies complex about 1:15 AM. The victims were rushed to Cape Cod Hospital for treatment. A large crowd reportedly gathered at the hospital and two people were arrested for a scuffle at the hospital. Police are still searching for suspects in the stabbings. None of the injuries appear life threatening.

HARWICH - Two people suffered minor injuries in a crash in Harwich just after noon Saturday. The crash happened on Route 28 at Harbor Road in Harwichport. Police say a car driven by 64-year old Jeri Sherman of Dennis collided with an SUV driven by 38-year old Matthew Pitta of Harwich. The crash is under investigation by Harwich Police. A portion of the Christ Church Episcopal entrance wall was damaged in the collision.

Apparent hit & run to Hyannis home
HYANNIS
- Police are looking for the driver who apparently struck a house in Hyannis and left the scene.

The damage was discovered Saturday morning at 4 Sudbury Lane.

A mailbox had been knocked down and an exterior was was damaged. No one was apparently home at the time.

Blaze destroys cottage in Mashpee
MASHPEE 
- A fire destroyed a cottage type building in Mashpee late Saturday morning. The 20x20 building in a remote area off Guild Road on the Sandwich line was fully involved when firefighters arrived around 11:30 AM. Units from Mashpee and Sandwich worked the fire while Bourne and Otis base firefighters covered the Sandwich stations. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
