BARNSTABLE  - A motorcycle operator was critically injured in a crash in Barnstable late Wednesday afternoon. The crash happened on Thornton Drive in the industrial park when the Ninja style bike reportedly collided with a a full size pickup truck. The victim 33-year old John Nakutis of Marstons Mills was reportedly pinned for a time under this pickup truck driven by Alan Nydam which was reportedly stopped at the time. Medflight helicopters were not available due to severe weather on the mainland so Nakutis was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital with severe head injuries and later transferred to Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. Hyannis man found amid garbage and worse

BARNSTABLE - At around 9 AM today the Barnstable PD was called to 47 Bettys Pond Rd in Hyannis for a well-being check. With no answer at the door and 2 phone calls into the home unanswered the BPD called Hyannis FD to force entry.

bettypdmanstretcher_310It is unknown if forced entry was done, but the PD and FD found  the 6ft owner inside in what was described as littered with garbage, with dog and cat feces, leaky pipes, ceilings worse than the "horder home" in West Yarmouth last year.

BPD officer James Dunn negotiated almost 2 hours in the front door asking the  man to go to CC Hospital and finally he did.

All police, fire and county photo had to wear large rubber gloves and boots to enter the home.

Pedestrian struck in Mashpee
MASHPEE - A pedestrian was struck in Mashpee Wednesday afternoon. It happened on Route 151 in front of Mashpee Commons about 5 PM. The injuries do not appear life threatening. Mashpee Police are investigating. 

Man charged after allegedly assaulting two BPD officers
HYANNIS
- A Boston man was arrested after a traffic stop that resulted in a foot chase and the alleged assault of two officers. About 11 PM Monday officer John Campbell tried to stop a car on Winter Street in Hyannis. The driver identified as 18-year old Julian Green of Boston reportedly shoved the officer and fled on foot. Officer Sean Raycroft and his K-9 Raycroft quickly located Green but Green reportedly refused to submit and Raycroft had to put the dog on him. Green is accused of punching Officer Raycroft as he tried to arrest him. Police report 12 grams of cocaine were found nearby. Green was charged with assault and battery on a police officer (2 counts), resisting arrest, possession of Class B (Cocaine) with intent to distribute, possession of Class D (marijuana) with intent to distribute, fail to stop for a police officer, marked lanes violation, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, operating without a license and b&e into a motor vehicle.

State Trooper with local ties busted for running Oxycontin ring
BOSTON — The Standard-Times reported today that a Massachusetts State Police trooper who once broke up drug rings in New Bedford was arrested along with his retired state trooper partner Wednesday on federal charges of running their own OxyContin trafficking ring. Trooper Mark V. Lemieux of Norfolk, who served on the Bristol County Drug Task Force from 2002 to 2004, appeared in federal court Wednesday to face charges of conspiring to distribute OxyContin and using extortion to collect drug debts, according to the affidavit filed in U.S. District Court.  Read this story here.

The hoarder home above shows how police & fire personnel have to be psychiatrists and hazmat crew all rolled into one.

It is nice that they coaxed him into going to the hospital instead of just forcing him. He obviously has mental illness and needs help.
