Car vs bicycle in Dennis; forklift accident in Falmouth; Crash closes Brewster road

Driver in Bourne crash to face motor vehicle homicide charges
BOURNE - A driver involved in a head-on crash will face motor vehicle homicide charges. Anthony Troiano of Sandwich was allegedly trying to pass a car on Sandwich Road when he collided with 69-year old Lilija Berents of East Falmouth. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash last Tuesday. Troiano is still in serious condition at Rhode Island Hospital. Read the original CWN story.

Man arrested for possession of child porn
FALMOUTH
- Falmouth Police executed a search warrant late Sunday morning at a Carriage Shop Road residence. 37-year old Todd Blair of East Falmouth was arrested at the scene, accused of 15 counts of possession of child pornography. BLair was a former pop warner football and recently youth basketball. He was also a delivery driver for the Cape Cod Times and Domino's Pizza. Police reportedly recovered numerous pieces of evidence at the scene. Blair was arraigned in court Monday and pled not guilty.

Vehicle vs bicycle in Dennis
DENNIS - A 64-year old bicyclist was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital after being struck by a car in Dennis. A woman pulling into a driveway on Old Bass River Road around 4 PM collided with the bike. The impact sent the man over the hood of the car. Officials credit a helmet with preventing critical injury. Dennis Police are investigating the crash., Further details were not immediately available.

Officer, two others evaluated after car collides with cruiser
HYANNIS - A Barnstable Police officer and two others were taken to Cape Cod Hospital with minor injuries after the officer's cruiser collided with a car. It happened about 2:15 PM on Main Street at Lewis Bay Road. Traffic was slowed to a crawl until the wreck was cleared. Pictures showed little damage to the cruiser and the second vehicle was gone when our reporter arrived. Hyannis EMTs are seen here checking the officer. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Man pinned by forklift
FALMOUTH - A man suffered severe leg trauma after being pinned by a forklift in Falmouth. Rescuers rushed to Falmouth Lumber on Teaticket Highway about 12:30 PM. Reports say a FedEx driver was pinned between the forklift and his truck. The victim 47-year old Jim Henderson of Rockland was taken to the East Falmouth School and Medflighted to Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston for emergency surgery. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating the incident.

- A car vs pole Monday morning shutdown Route 6A in the area of Millstone Road for most of the day. The crash happened about 9:30 AM and rescuers reportedly had to extricate the driver 24-year old Stephen Doherty of Brighton from the vehicle which first rolled over and then struck the pole snapping it. He was listed in critical condition at CCH. Police urged motorists to avoid the area.

Fallen tree darkens upper Cape
FALMOUTH
- A tree likely weakened by heavy weekend rain fell across electrical wires Sunday afternoon. 8500 customers in Falmouth and Mashpee were left without lights for about 4 hours.
