Woman critically injured in Hyannis crash
This crash at South St & High School Rd in Hyannis left a woman critically injured.
HYANNIS - An elderly woman was critically injured in a two vehicle crash in Hyannis late Thursday afternoon. The crash happened about 5:45 PM at the intersection of South Street and High School Road. Reports say a landscaping truck collided with a car. The impact pushed the car up on the sidewalk narrowly missing a house. a female passenger in that car 59-year old Margaret McLeone of Ireland had to be extricated and was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital. McLeone's husband Peter was driving the car and taken to Cape Cod Hospital with lesser injuries.
The landscaping truck is owned by Forest Keepers Tree Care of Hyannis. The driver Christopher Turner (right) was not injured.
Barnstable Police are investigating the crash and say Peter McLeone apparently ran a stop sign and Turner could not stop in time.
The investigation into the crash is continuing.

Four injured in Hyannis crash

HYANNIS - Four people were injured in one of several crashes in Hyannis Thursday afternoon. The collision between a Dodge Caravan and a Saturn station wagon happened about 1:45 PM on Center Street by the old bus station. The station wagon narrowly missed crashing into a building when it struck a cement curb that halted its progress. None of the injuries appear life threatening. Barnstable Police are investigating the crash.

Finger amputated in Provincetown
PROVINCETOWN - One person was treated after apparently amputating a finger in Provincetown early Thursday afternoon. The victim arrived at the fire station where they were treated and taken by ambulance to Hyannis. There are reports the man was later flown to a Boston hospital for surgery.
Four arrested in vandalism spree
HYANNIS - Four people were arrested after police responded to a vandalism incident on Old Strawberry Road. Police arrived to find a group of about 20 people many with baseball bats and throwing rocks and at least one car had a smashed window late Wednesday evening. The Times reports police arrested 19-year old Kenneth Chisholm of Somerville, 18-year old Clyde Bullock of Hyannis and a 16-year old juvenile for malicious destruction over $250. 17-year old Christopher Newell of Hyannis was tracked to a vacant building by a police dog. In addition to the malicious destruction charge he faces breaking and entering in the nighttime. All four were to be arraigned Thursday morning in Barnstable District Court. The motive in the attack is unclear.
Man arrested in car break-ins
HYANNIS - Barnstable Police have stepped up night patrols in the wake of increased activity recently. The patrols reportedly discovered a man exiting a pickup truck on Brookshire Road early Thursday morning. The man fled when he saw police but was quickly apprehended. 37-year old Richard Dallacosta was reportedly found with a CD case, calculator and a pair of shears. He was charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime, possession of burglarious tools and larceny, Police suspect him in a series of vehicle break-ins in the Brookshire Road area. They remind people to always lock their cars and not leave valuables in plain sight.
