Driver trapped in Falmouth rollover; Reported barricaded subject in Brewster; Luxury car fire in Yarmouth; Man arrested on 8 warrants; Truro PD starts bike patrol

Driver trapped after vehicle hits tree, rolls over in Falmouth
FALMOUTH
- A driver was seriously injured when their vehicle struck a tree and rolled over in Falmouth early Friday morning. The crash happened about 1:35 AM on Carraige Shop Road near Old Barnstable Road. Rescuers had to extricate the driver using the Jaws of Life. The driver was taken to Falmouth Hospital. The crash is under investigation by Falmouth Police.

Subject reportedly barricades himself in Brewster
BREWSTER
- Officials in Brewster responded to a 911 call of a person who had reportedly barricaded them self inside the Kings Landing Apartments on State Street off Underpass Road around noon Thursday. The Brewster Police have not released any information but we do know the subject apparently came out on his own and was transported to Cape Cod Hospital for evaluation. Luxury car catches fire in Yarmouth driveway

    
A fire started in the engine compartment of a Lincoln Town Car in Yarmouth.
YARMOUTH - A car fire was reported today in Yarmouth about mid afternoon.

On arrival on Deb's Hill Road firefighters found this Lincoln Town Car in the driveway with a fire under the hood.

The vehicle was right next to a second Lincoln Town Car.

The fire was knocked down quickly with no injuries but the vehicle was a total loss.

Man wanted on 8 warrants caught on traffic stop
YARMOUTH
- Yarmouth Police arrested a man with eight outstanding warrants. Patrol Officer Richard Fichter was on routine patrol when he spotted a known wanted person operating a 2005 Nissan Altima westbound on Route 28 in West Yarmouth.  Patrol Officer Fichter with assistance from Yarmouth Police Patrol Sergeant Michael Bryant and the Barnstable Police Department, stopped the vehicle on Route 28 in Hyannis. 

The operator stated that he did not have any license or identification and gave a false name.  A check of his wallet confirmed his true identity and the existence of 8 outstanding default warrants.

The suspect 22-year old Robert D. Foley of Harwich was placed in custody and transported to Yarmouth Police Headquarters.  After the completion of the booking process, he was transferred to the Barnstable District Court. Mug shot furnished by YPD.

The warrants were for:

Default Warrant Possession of Heroin in a School Zone Falmouth District Court
Default Warrant Larceny and Refusal to Identify Himself Orleans District Court

Truro Police to launch bicycle patrol
TRURO
- Starting today the Truro Police Department will be patrolling areas of town on bicycle. Officer James Roach a three year veteran of the force has been assigned to patrol areas of town in an effort to increase the department's visibility and to make motorists aware of the numerous bicyclist and pedestrians that use the roads of Truro. In addition Officer Roach will be doing speed enforcement working with other officers in marked and unmarked police vehicles. The goal of the program is visibility and conformance of traffic laws.

I'm not sticking up for this young man by any means. He has had a tough life . His dad was struck and killed one night while walking down rte 134 here in Dennis.quite a few yrs ago.Very unstable upbringing.Sad that some kids dont have a chance these days.

He first gave the Officers a false name which is Illegal and a Crime.
If an Officer aske you for a name or Identification you MUST either produce and ID or give a valid name. If you do not have an ID and give an Officer a false name then you can be charged with providing a false name.
