Crash causes major delays

Fire damages Hyannis building
HYANNIS - Fire damaged a building housing the Casa Veinte dress shop at 20 Sea Street just after 3 AM. The fire appeared to have started on an outside wall and filled the building with smoke. Early detection by a couple of sleepless teens  out for a walk and quick work by firefighters to saw open the wall and douse the flames prevented significant damage.No one was injured and the cause is believed to be careless disposal of smoking materials.

"Alley" crash causes major delays, cell phone blamed
HARWICH - A three vehicle crash late Friday afternoon on the Harwich/Brewster line caused major delays. The crash on the eastbound side of Route 6 near exit 10 along the old "suicide alley" stretch came at the height of rush hour and as vacationers were flocking to the Cape for the weekend. Two people were taken to Cape Cod Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. One of them was transported by a Lower Cape Ambulance that came upon the collision while returning from the hospital. State Police are investigating the cause of the crash. Police allege 54-year old Patricial Durgin of Orleans was reaching for her cell phone when she apparently failed to notice stopped traffic ahead of her and collided with a car driven by 55-year old Everett Redmond of Brewster. The impact forced Redmond's car into a third vehicle driven by 35-year old Wendy Levandoski of Harwich.Levandoski and and Redmond were taken to CCH. The wreckage was reportedly strewn over a large area and tow trucks were needed to remove the vehicles. Residual delays persisted into the evening for a while in the area.

There are more personal attacks on this site than any I have ever seen elsewhere.Yet, I have also never seen you reprimand others. A simple response said in jest with a smile:) got a reply that was a personal attack to myself and fellow Codders.The personal attack continued from CCFantasyland, but I don't see you sending "fantasy" to the corner.At least I preceeded my personal attack with "now to get personal". Ohhh, is that how you discovered it yet missed CCfantasylands? lmao Perhaps you like being slapped in face with "I spend my money here" but most of us do not. 54 feels august is the worst month 4 cape traffic.we will soon see plates from ontario and quebec littering the roads of cape cod,driving like fools,cleaning their raw fish on the carpets of the motel their in,babbling in canadian to their dirty little french kids while they hold up lines at every dunkin donuts,store or gas station on the island.beware the french canadian men on our beaches covering their hairy ,paunchy bodies with the smallest grape sack they could find.dont think they spend big dollars on the cape either,their taxes r so overbearing in molsonville that they come here to bargain shop.je me souviens my anus.how do u say "go home" in canadian?

Susan, I had to do some looking around but I found what you were referring to. We have a very mellow existance before the summer hits - of course lately it includes saying goodbye to friends who can no longer afford to live here. We have lived here since '89 and remember when stores weren't open on Sunday. Alot of the charm has been replaced by the worship of the almighty dollar. Cottages we loved to look at being bought up, knocked down and replaced with a mansion that we know will only see life one or two weeks a year. It's disrepectful to the land itself. And then we get it thrown into our face how we wouldn't be able to live without tourism. Personally, hub is an EMT so if the tourists want to support him with OT it's gonna hurt! LOL. But there are different types of tourists and I try to teach my kids this - there are tourists - ones who come, gloat, litter, etc and there are guests - one who comes respects the people and the land and tries to brighten someone elses day instead of having the gimmees. Luckily most on my street are summer owners and guests.....

August IS the worst month!!It's the most crowded and the most hot, and by now it's all getting soo wearisome. I've given up trying to keep my temper. But the other day, something really cool happened!! I was at a light, waiting for it to turn green...as soon as it did, this #@&*# behind me lay on his horn. So I yelled out the window"I SEE IT!!" and gave him the finger. Then pulled over to the side so the #@&*# could go ahead of me. Well,then I see a cop behind me, and I think "Oh no, a ticket." But he went after the other guy!! The obnoxious creep who had blasted his horn! And I thought "YEAH!" Score one for the locals. (well, semi-local---not born here) And I thank that police officer from the bottom of my heart!

ROFL!I love seeing tourons get pulled over!...TOURON..VERB...person who visits Cape Cod in the summer and is a total JACK @$$ the entire time..doesn't tip well and complains in hopes of getting something free!..in a sentance..There are far to many TOURONS this year...I say we add it to websters dictionary...!
