Barnstable acting police chief confirmed by Town Council tonight
Up from the ranks, new chief voted on at Barnstable Council meeting
Paul MacDonald (on right), who has served as acting chief of the Barnstable Police Department since November of 2006 was made the permanent chief at the Barnstable Town Council for confirmation as permanent chief at the regular council meeting on Thursday night.
MacDonald's entire law enforcement career has been with the department which he will undoubtedly now lead. His previous rank was Lieutenant in the patrol division.
According to our well-informed source in that town, Chief MacDonald is a good guy, a good cop and a good choice.
The troops seem happy with him, and he is definitely one of them...always in full blues...looks like a cop, not a politician.
