Acknowledges conviction, lies, conviction for cocaine possession
Marshall said yesterday that he joined the Marines in September 1968, several months after the historic 77-day battle between US forces and the North Vietnamese had ended. Asked whether he was at Khe Sahn, Marshall said: "No, not for the siege."
Glenn Marshall, the Mashpee Wampanoag leader who secured federal recognition for the tribe and presided over its push to build a $1 billion casino in Massachusetts, stepped aside yesterday after acknowledging that he was a convicted rapist and that he had lied to Congress about his military service during the Vietnam War.
In an interview with the Globe, Marshall, 57, wept as he apologized for repeatedly lying about his past and announced that he was temporarily handing over his responsibilities as chairman of the tribe council to his vice chairman, Shawn Hendricks, "so I can deal with the mental and physical issues I'm facing."
"It's an apology to my family, tribe, and the Commonwealth," said Marshall, sobbing and wiping tears with a paper napkin. "I could only ask that they could forgive me, because I'm not a bad person." ...Marshall said he intended to resume his duties as chairman but would not say when... Globe.

“I realize I have my own demons that I need to deal with" - Marshall

Wampanoag tribe leader steps down after rape conviction revealed;
Casino plan still moves forward
“I realize I have my own demons that I need to deal with... so I can properly deal with the mental and physical issues I'm facing.”In the wake of reports of a rape conviction and distorting his military service, Wampanoag leader Glenn Marshall has stepped down temporarily as tribal council chairman, saying he has his “own demons” to deal with.
Vice-Chairman Shawn W. Hendricks Sr. now will take control of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Council.The tribe is still moving ahead with plans to put a Mohegan Sun-type casino complex in Middleboro after a special town meeting there approved an agreement last month with the tribe. “During Glenn's absence, business for the tribe will continue,” Hendricks said Friday. “Next week we will file an application to take land into trust in Mashpee and in Middleboro.” Brockton Enterprise.

It sort of sounds like they are passing the buck.
Who should prosecute Marshall, Michael O'Keefe? That's a joke!
and he is no doubt bad...it's right there for the world to see...he probably couldn't practice medicine at Cape Cod Hospital....three times, or was it two times she shot him? Why is the Globne of all things the only paper to report three, a fascinating place of departure for DA O'Keefe and his brother of the bar Kevin Reddington, whose stories differed only in that one, shall we say material aspect?
And what was it she said, I didn't mean for it to end this way, sweetie, but...ah...om...ah...go in pieces? Holy cannoli, Batman, if anyone still believes any shred of this official version of the truth -- whichever one they choose to throw out there-- we are beyond the bend as a people....

Glenn, if you think this will stop the media from digging, especially into anything related to the tribal money you're in charge of, think again.
August is almost over, school is starting, everyone will be finishing their vacations soon, and reporters from all over New England will have nothing better to do than to dig where the digging is good, right here in Mashpee.
Wamps, put your heads together and find a decent, honorable, and intelligent man or woman to lead your tribe, and fast.
