Bourne crash; Hyannis crash; Hyannis church robbed

Three injured, two seriously in Bourne crash

A Mustang hit a pole in Bourne; EMTs check a patient who was already boarded and collared.
BOURNE - Three people were injured, two seriously, in a crash in Bourne around 2:20 PM in front of 107 Waterhouse Road. A Ford Mustang apparently lost control and crossed over oncoming lanes before crashing head-on into a utility pole. The two seriously injured victims were taken to Falmouth and Tobey hospitals. Medflight helicopters were requested to both hospitals to transfer the victims to Boston. Bourne police are investigating the crash and a rollover a short time later on Cranberry Highway at Ben Abbey Road. That driver was not seriously injured. Photos courtesy of AAP.

Car vs. tree injures one

A Chrysler PT Cruiser crashed into trees in Hyannis on Sunday.
HYANNIS - Barnstable police and Hyannis firefighters responded to a crash at Garden Lane and Bell Street in Hyannis at 11:15 AM after the driver of a Chrysler PT Cruiser lost control and hit a clump of trees, knocking one of them down.

The car's air bags deployed, possibly sparing the driver from serious injury. Hyannis firefighters helped the woman from the vehicle and took her by ambulance to Cape Cod Hospital.

A neighbor told CWN that there have been several crashes at that location and if it weren't for the large trees in front of 45 Garden Lane, the car may well have hit the house and injured someone inside.

Hyannis church broken into; funds stolen

A Barnstable police officer and county investigation officer check for evidence at a church break-in.
HYANNIS - When the pastor of the New Hope Full Gospel Baptist Church on Stevens Street arrived around 9 AM for Sunday services, she (bottom right) discovered that a window had been forced open and money had been stolen from a safe box.

It was uncertain when the break-in and theft occurred.

Barnstable police arrived and a County Investigation Officer took photos and prints inside and outside the church.

Parishioners were shocked when they arrived for Sunday worship services and learned what happened.
